In addition, Our Lady continued to help us, in our family life, when our first daughter Ashley was three years old, she was diagnosed with ITP (Low platelets) and there is no cure for it but to try to keep the platelets at a safe level. We prayed to Our Lady and her healing intercession and we promised her that we would donate a statue of our Lady of Fatima to Our Fatima Church since it seemed to us that it was odd that they did not have one. It was not that easy but after three years in May, our prayers were answered and we bought the beautiful statue and we gave it to the pastor. He used it right away for the May Crowning; they have a special dedication to Her. In addition, the church bought the statues of the children of Fatima and made a special altar for her.
Throughout these sixteen years, Our Lady has been part of our family life especially by giving us the grace to pray the Rosary everyday as a family. This might be the most important one as “A Family that prays together stays together.”
Today we will be renewing our Marian Consecration using the book, 33 Days to Morning Glory by Father Michael Gaitley, MIC and we cannot wait to see how many more graces Mary has prepared for us. We pray that She will bless us with many years together and that Her intercession to Jesus will bring us all to our heavenly home. If God can work through a couple like us, He can definitely work through anyone. God Bless you.
