Good Counsel Homes helps a pregnant mom before, during, and after the birth. Founded in 1985 by Father Benedict Groeschel, CFR, and Christopher Bell, a Catholic layman, Good Counsel is a nationally recognized nonprofit leader and innovator in creating supportive residential care and community-based services for homeless, expectant, and new mothers and their children in the context of the Catholic social tradition. With headquarters in Hoboken, New Jersey, where Good Counsel was founded.
We became aware of Good Counsel Homes when we met Christopher Bell's beautiful wife and son at the March for Life 2012 Convention Center. They prayed the Holy Rosary with us for three hours and at the end the son stayed for another three hours of the Rosary. They were really prayer warriors, especially Emilio. Since our meeting it has been on our heart to someday go help the Good Counsel Homes however we could. On our fifth day of our summer vacation we decided to visit them and bring some gifts for the children.
Our trip began at Carter's where the girls were excited to pick out outfits for the children. Here are the girls outside of Carter's in Edgewater.
We prayed the Rosary as a family before the Mass in front of the Blessed Tabernacle. Mass and the Chapel was Beautiful. There was only 15 people there but their response felt like enough to fill a whole church. What a difference desire makes! Here is a picture of the Beautiful Chapel.
May the Lord Bless you and your family,
The Kiczek Family
